MarinerSync is operated by Swamp Rabbit Analytics, LLC (South Carolina, USA), referred to below as “we”. This policy covers the MarinerSync mobile apps and the site at marinersync.com.

What we collect

Name, username, email, password	To create your account and sign you in. Passwords are stored hashed — we never see them.
Optional profile details: avatar, hometown, school, role aboard	So crewmates recognise you. Leave any of them blank.
Your rotation: anchor date, days on and off, vessel, per-occurrence exceptions	This is the calculation. Without it there is no overlap to find.
Crews you create or join, and who is in them	To show the right schedules to the right people.
Messages and images you send in crew chats or direct messages	To deliver them to the people you sent them to.
Your location — only if you switch sharing on	To place you on a crew's map. Off by default, set per crew, and we keep only your most recent point.
A device push token	To send notifications you have turned on. Turn notifications off and the token is no longer used.
Server logs: IP address, timestamp, and the page or endpoint requested	To keep the service running and to investigate abuse. Ordinary web-server records, not a profile of you.

If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile from Google in place of a password. We do not receive your Google contacts, calendar, or anything else from your Google account.

If you sign up while the service is at capacity, we hold your email on a waitlist until a place opens or you ask us to remove it.

What we do not do

• No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
• No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in the app.
• No tracking of you across other companies' apps or websites.
• We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

Who can see your information

Your crewmates

Members of a crew can see your name, profile, and the shore-and-sea pattern your rotation produces, plus anything you post in that crew's chat. Each crew has its own switches for sharing your location and showing your schedule; both are yours to change at any time, and turning one off stops the sharing from that point on.

Service providers

Push notifications are delivered through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, which receives your device token and the notification text. Google sign-in, if you use it, involves Google by definition. Hosting and databases are operated by Swamp Rabbit Analytics on infrastructure we control. That is the whole list.

Legal

We will disclose information if the law genuinely requires it — a valid legal demand — or where it is necessary to protect someone's safety. If we are permitted to tell you, we will.

Where it is held

On servers in the United States. Traffic to the app and the site is encrypted in transit, and passwords are hashed at rest. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise; we do keep the attack surface small and the data set narrow.

How long we keep it

Account information, rotations, crews, and messages are kept while your account is open, because the app cannot do its job without them. Location is stored as a single most-recent point per person, replaced each time it updates and removed when you switch sharing off. Server logs are rotated in the ordinary course.

Deleting your account

In the app, open Account and choose Delete account. It takes effect immediately: your profile, rotation, location, push tokens, and the messages you sent are removed. A crew you own passes to its longest-standing member; a crew only you were in is deleted with it. You do not have to give a reason, and there is nothing to undo — it is gone.

If you would rather we did it, email bennett@swamprabbitanalytics.com from your account address and we will close it within 30 days and confirm when it is done.

You can also ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to correct something, at the same address.

Age

MarinerSync is built for working mariners, is rated 18+ on the App Store, and is not directed to children. Do not create an account if you are under 18. If we learn that we hold information from someone under 18, we delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
